It's been a long time since I posted here!

I wanted to put this here, regarding Holden's latest vet visit, which was in December.

Medical Notes:
"Sound walk and jog LH. Mild swelling/thickness LH fetlock remaining with lateral collateral ligament palpable thick but cool and firm. Mild joint effusion. No pain on flexion. Ultrasound shows overall improvement in both collateral ligaments. Medial deep still shows fiber disruption but markedly improved. Lateral collateral long component remains thick but smaller in diameter and no change in avusion contour/mineralization. Deep lateral component shows 40-50% improvement in fiber pattern. Mild synovitis L fetlock joint remaining."
Holden moved January 6th to his new digs, a small medical paddock 15ftx25ft. I expanded it mid-January another 10ft, and last week (the 18th, I think?) I took down the panels so he is now in a small paddock. He has been doing very well. His leg continues to be tight every day. He is ever inquisitive and expects a carrot any time you walk past him.

Holden being harassed by Boomer.
Most remarkable is the weight he has put on in the past month alone. You can no longer feel any of his ribs and he is looking very good. I will have to snap a picture tomorrow and do a before/after image.

Admittedly, I have not walked Holden consistently. The riding paddocks here are flush with deep snow that I do not feel is beneficial to Holden's leg - and now that he has a much bigger paddock to walk around in, I feel he is able to move without repercussion. I still take him at least a couple times a week and give him a good brush down, and he gets bushels of carrots every day. I think he is enjoying this life.
